J Shaw article"A regional professional Bachelors Degree program in poverty reduction and agricultural management: possibilities for private engagement" was presented by Jonathan Shaw, Director of AIT Extension, at the International Symposium on Public Private Partnership in TVET: Challenges, Opportunities and Best Practices, held in Manila, Philippines, in December 2008.

This paper based on the presentation describes the collaboration between the Lao Department of Livestock and Fisheries, several agricultural colleges, a new university in northern Thailand and the Wetlands Alliance. The aim is to make and maintain changes that will improve the livelihoods and food security of the region's rural and peri-urban poor through sustainable management of wetlands and aquatic resources.
