Written by Hans guttman Monday, 16 August 2010 12:02
These videos from two villages in Stung Treng in Cambodia are community produced. They form part of an on-going social research initiative supported by the Wetlands Alliance partners CEPA and The WorldFish Center.
The film documents some of the process and experience of conducting villager led research. The content is entirely driven by the Salaphoum researchers through discussions facilitated by WorldFish staff. This is Salaphoums first community produced film and forms part of the theme of work on community produced media towards improving natural resources management and local governance.

| Learning to Focus on Poverty - by the Wetlands Alliance In a remote village in rural Savannakhet province, Lao PDR, a small group of adult continuing education students happily accept completion certificates from their professor, Dr Usa Chethanond, a veterinarian from Thailand. The Laotian graduates are adult students of a unique education initiative now connecting Laos and Thailand. The experimental four-day short course for local government workers was part of a larger education programme called the Poverty Reduction and Agricultural Management, or PRAM, supported by the Wetlands Alliance partners in Laos and Northeast Tahiland together with AIT and CORIN-Asia. As a hybrid of problem-based learning, in-service training and formal academic approaches to learning, PRAM is a unique vocational and professional bachelor's degree programme intended to tackle poverty. |
